Design and Technology
Aims:
We want children to be prepared and confident for challenges that they may face. We aim for every student to be determined in their aspirations, open to ideas and able to innovate in a variety of ways.
How DT is taught:
At Harry Gosling we teach Design and Technology (D&T) using the scheme Projects on a Page, developed by The Design and Technology Association. This provides children with opportunity to build upon their skills, work collaboratively to solve problems and produce quality, functional products. There is a level of flexibility in the curriculum which means we can adapt it to the needs of the children with ease, but they are always based on the three core elements of Design, Make and Evaluate. The projects also encourage children to develop their Maths, Science and Computing skills outside of the specific subject; strengthening their understanding in a more purposeful, practical way.
